Despite valiant efforts on the road, Long Beach Poly and Millikan were both eliminated from the CIF Southern Section boys’ water polo playoffs on Tuesday.
Poly and Westlake were within a goal or two of each other for most of their Division 2 battle, but the Jackrabbits came up just short in a 13-11 loss.
Reece Hammond led Poly with three goals while Emerson and Soohoo each scored twice. Goaltender Sean had nine saves.
Also in Division 2, Millikan lost at La Serna 18-1.
